One afternoon, Anthony arrives unexpectedly at classmate Caroline’s door. He’s got a beat-up copy of Walt Whitman’s Leaves of Grass, an urgent homework assignment, and a fierce determination to get it done. Caroline, homebound with a chronic illness, is less than thrilled by the surprise visit.
